GILLIAN RAJAN RD
I’m a UK Registered Dietitian with over 20 years’ experience working in gastroenterology across both the NHS and private practice.
I specialise in supporting women with IBS and ongoing gut symptoms, particularly during peri- and postmenopause — a stage of life where digestion, stress, sleep, hormones and overall wellbeing can often become more closely connected.
Over the years, I’ve worked with many women who feel exhausted by restrictive diets, conflicting advice, endless symptom monitoring, and the frustration of never quite feeling in control of their digestion.
My approach is calm, practical, and evidence-informed.
Rather than focusing only on food, I look at the wider picture that can influence digestive symptoms, including:
-
nutrition and eating patterns
-
stress and the gut-brain connection
-
sleep and energy
-
lifestyle habits and routines
-
symptom anxiety and nervous system regulation
I believe IBS management should feel supportive and sustainable — not overwhelming or restrictive.
Alongside my specialist gastroenterology background, I have additional training in clinical hypnotherapy and a particular interest in the role the nervous system plays in digestive health and symptom sensitivity.
My goal is to help women feel:
-
more informed
-
more confident around food
-
less overwhelmed by symptoms
-
and more able to trust their body again
Professionally, my background includes specialist work in:
-
IBS and functional gut disorders
-
